This is a continuation of my Sea Peoples project which I posted earlier. I’ve made a bit more progress, and wanted to show where things are now. At this point, almost all of the units (or rather, “battlegroups”, according to the FoG rules) are done except for the basing. I’ve attached them down to the [...]

Saxons!

A few months ago, I heard about a new set of wargame rules called Saga, set in the Dark Ages. Unfortunately for me, Saga was sold out everywhere I looked, but it did give me a good excuse to haul out some of my Dark Age figures from the lead pile and paint them in [...]

Several years ago, I spotted what seemed to be a great deal on Ebay. Some guy was selling a gigantic pile of unpainted Wargames Foundry Sea Peoples figures (28mm, of course) for a very, very low price. I don’t remember exactly how low, but it was low enough to prompt me to buy the entire [...]

Expanding on my Future War Insurgents shown here, I have added more troops, including some heavy weapons to beef up their capabilities on the table. As with the bulk of my insurgent force, Most of these are made up of Copplestone Future War figures. There are also several Pig Iron Production figures with different heads, [...]

Back of Beyond Characters

Here are a few 28mm characters I painted a while back. Each of these is from Copplestone except for ‘The Captain’ (dressed in blue), which I think is a Foundry figure:

To the Barricades!

Just a quick post to show a terrain feature I painted. This resin barricade, which I bought from Ainsty Casting, is good for a wide range of periods, from medieval to 20th Century.

The Archbishop and the Ogre

To start off 2012, I thought I’d post a few shots of a couple of figures I did not too long ago. The ogre is a Reaper figure. It is on a somewhat odd-looking base because I had originally intended him to be a giant for a 10mm orc army, and I wanted the basing [...]

I’m not really a “zombie” gamer. I tend to lean more toward historical periods for my wargaming purposes. I like the whole idea of strategy against an opponent who can equally use strategy to defeat you, and I don’t really see zombies fitting into that. However, I try not to be too dogmatic with things [...]

Here are some shots of a command group I painted a while back. Two of the officers are from Musketeer Miniatures and the one waving his cigar around is by Copplestone. The table is from Ainsty, but I made the objects on the tabletop (The bottle, cups and ashtray) out of green stuff. It’s obvious [...]

I like change. The status quo tends to drive me crazy, and I can’t just leave things well enough alone. I tinker and tweak, and alter and convert things incessantly, and I’m no different when it comes to wargame rules. The Russian Civil War is one of the periods that interests me, and so I’ve [...]
